Hello, my name is Kat and I am a chartered Clinical Psychologist here at Fysikal.

You may have clicked on me out of curiosity, or because you are considering seeking support for your own mental health. Seeking support can be a daunting prospect; you may feel overwhelmed by the options available or unsure about who is the right person to support you. I understand that, and am always happy to help you navigate this process. When you are ready, give me a call, or send me a message, and we can talk about what you need, and who may be best to provide that for you, whether that is me or someone else.

A bit about me:

For the last decade I have worked in the NHS and third sector, supporting  adults and older adults experiencing distress as a result of difficult or traumatic life experiences, relationship difficulties and physical health conditions. Since completing my Doctorate in Clinical Psychology in 2014, I have worked within NHS community mental health services, developing a wide range of experience supporting individuals through some of the most challenging times of their lives. I set up my private practice ‘Renew Psychology’, alongside my NHS role, in order to provide tailored, compassionate, mental health support to those that need it, at a time that is right for them.

What I can offer:

My practice offers treatment to adults and older adults experiencing distress as a result of  difficulties such as anxiety, depression, phobias, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), bereavement and stress.

In addition, I have a specialist interest in supporting people who are experiencing distress as a result of a physical health problems (including pain), neurological conditions (such as stroke) or  a diagnosis of a neurodegenerative condition (such as dementia and Parkinson's Disease).

I will support you to develop an understanding of your difficulties that not only deepens your knowledge of yourself, but also provides a platform for change. Together we will develop a treatment plan that aims to improve your relationship with yourself and introduce new ways of coping in order to reduce your distress, and help you begin to live a life that is meaningful to you.

As a clinical psychologist, I am trained to draw on multiple therapeutic models, for a wide range of mental health difficulties, in order to provide you with an individually tailored treatment plan. Primarily I work using Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) but also draw on other models depending on your needs and goals.
