Press ‘reset’ with a visit to the Chiropractor
From time to time, we all get that familiar slow and sluggish feeling, like there are too many tabs open in our brains, files downloading and operations to perform that we struggle to function properly without a jolly old press of the ‘restart’ button. What if we told you that this is exactly what Chiropractic adjustment does? A recent 15 year long study shows that Chiropractic adjustments change the way your brain works.

Our brains are so incredible that they have the power to control our entire situation. Our reality is created in our brains. We have nerves in every joint, muscle and tissue within our body that are constantly sending information back to the subconscious brain. As a result we know exactly when to breathe, where our limbs are, how fast our heart is beating, how full our bladder is and if we feel too hot or cold. All of this information goes into creating your current reality, which can change from moment to moment.
Occasionally, due to changes in the body or environment, things can get a bit fuzzy and the subconscious brain gets overloaded.
Have you ever tripped up the stairs you climb daily or run into the door frame as you walk through? For whatever reason your brain has miscalculated where you are and you end up feeling a little out of sync. The brain was filling in the gaps, and they weren’t quite accurate.
The current research shows that Chiropractic spinal adjustments essentially hit the ‘reset’ button in your brain which allows it to start processing some of that sensory information in a more accurate way again.
So, how does this help me?
Imagine the pathways in your body are like a road with parked cars along it. When you’ve had a chiropractic treatment and your brain is ‘reset,’ those parked cars are gone and the road is clear again. This means everything works more easily and efficiently, realigning your whole body, allowing tight muscles to relax, and reducing pain and stress. As a result, your overall sense of energy and wellbeing is boosted, leaving you to get on with living life to the full.
